The University of North Florida, in conjunction with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, FBI Jacksonville and the FBI Jacksonville Citizens Academy Alumni Association is proud to sponsor a unique and interactive four week program designed specifically for young adults, ages 15-18 who are preparing for college.

Similar to the Jacksonville FBI and JSO Citizens’ Academies, the course will offer area youth who have been selected for participation , topics of interest that focus on four areas critical in today’s world:

  • Drugs/health/wellness and the effects of alcohol, which will include the use of a simulator
  • Cyber predators and bullies/chatrooms/texting and hacking
  • Human trafficking
  • Situational awareness and basic self-defense

Attendees will engage in lively discussions with subject matter experts in each of these areas for the purpose of raising the participants’ awareness, and offering practical tips and knowledge that can be put to use immediately.

Class will be held one night a week for four weeks. This program is limited to 40 participants and will be offered one time per year.
